Cool Key not detected.

Ok I’ve read every “key not detected” forum post. I have a Lexus rx450h 2012 40k miles. Both of my key fobs have new batteries. The car itself has a new 12v battery. Both keys exhibit the same issues.... whether in the car alone or together. My keys are stored overnight on the kitchen counter and away from the car and my phone.

Here is is the problem.

All the time. “Key not detected” when any door is opened after the car starts. I can still drive in this state.

Frequently. I am required to place key next to the power button while depressing the brake....not all the time and there is no logical reason why....I can go a week with normal starting and then I’ll have a week with days where I have to go through this extra step.

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi you are my only hope.

Welcome to CL.

You should post this in the 3rd Generation RX350 forum (same as RX450h which has a subforum) as it will get a lot more traffic and possible solutions.

I suspect you are far from a dealer, but you may need their help to resolve this problem.

Try new battery for the fob. There are counterfeit batteries in the market.
