what oil to use
I'm changing the oil on a 92 sc300 with 140K. What type of oil would I use? I think originally it is supposed to be 5-30 bust since there are so many miles should I put something else in there? Also how many quarts does the engine need?
go with a 10W-30 formulated for high mileage engines. If you have no apparent leaks or drips and if it looks/runs relatively clean (no sludging, no smoke, no abnormally high usage over time) then you might consider synthetic formulas.
I can't help you on the volume though, that is what the owners manual is for.
