Default 2004 RX330 Engine Light Codes

It took me awhile to do this, but at the suggestion of several people here, I finally cleared my engine light codes and waited until the lights came back on to have them read again. After a week or so, the CEL, VSC and Trac Off lights came back on. I went back to the auto parts store and they said there were two codes. As it turns out, it was the same code twice. PO 430 Cat System effectiveness below threshold bank 2. From my previous post, I was told that now we have some data to proceed from.

The auto parts guy said the catalytic converter is not getting up to proper temperature to operate correctly. He said it was likely from burning low octane fuel. (Something I've seen mentioned on other owner threads.)

Smart people here have said there are steps to take now to avoid throwing money at things that don't need to be replaced. Like spark plugs, which the auto parts guy said could not cause this code to come up. Can anyone suggest the next thing to try?

Thanks,

Steve
