Default Alternator died

Dear Sirs,

my alternator just gave up on me, totally (GS300 2006) Dealership is asking serious money for alternator. Was looking for alternatives and found this: http://www.buycarparts.co.uk/herthbu...oparts/7297147

Not sure if this would do the trick though. Dealership said that they have had third party parts and the charging light remains burning.

Dealership saying the original alternator to be 27060-31052 mentioned alternator does not have exact number matching but gets suggested based on car model.

Anyone had any experience with replacing alternators with not Denso one?

Regards.

You can always get a remanufactured alternator at a fraction of cost.
A few years ago, I had a remanufactured alternator for around $120...

I changed my alternator myself NON mechanic guy. It took an entire day as im a novice and didnt have some of the correct tools. Especially a small swiveling head wrench. to get this bolt that was in the back. This was the hardest part. And everything is made so tight and crammed together.
I purchased my alternator from Autozone because advance auto costed more didnt have in stock.
Alternator 1 failed after a new months. it was bad to begin with.
Alternator 2 is going good after a year didnt cost me more as it was lifetime warrenty. but if i paid to put this in... it would have been more money$$

Ask the store to test the alternator on a bench for you. They have a machine to test the unit before you waste your time like me.
It should put out over 13.5V while running.\

Please thank if useful
