Question How do i reset my ecm

Im new to this not sure if this is how to post...but i have had my 2003 es 300 for about 2months i got it for doing a demo and a remodel needed the car at the time but i hooked up my code reader and it says i have a faulty ecm? Any suggestions!

Replace the ECM.

I love how mdbrown has the most simple solutions as if resources were infinite.

You could use a tool called techstream which can be had for like 20 to $50 on ebay and then you will need a seed code. ( which costs some money)
I also saw a youtube on resetting ecm and programming keys. Idk if it was your model tho

I love how jehmin thinks people with no experience should be monkeying around with flash tools for their ecm. An ecm that is flagged as faulty has failed the checksum for the firmware code. As an aside, a seed code calculator runs around $200 so he's out $250 for the flashtool and seed code calculator and if it doesn't work he will still have to shell out $350 for a PCM.

OP, be smart and just replace the PCM. They are approx. $350 for a refurb. If you want to gamble for less buy a used one on ebay or pick one from a wrecking yard. Don't use your own car as a learning tool for something like this.
