Default New Car Buy - Pre-purchase Maintenance

Buying a new Lexus and wondering if it is worth it to pay for scheduled maintenance upfront. I did that with the Odyssey and it was smooth for the first 4 scheduled maintenance trips. has anyone done that and if yes, how much was paid and for what services?

How much does the typical scheduled maintenance cost?

thanks.

Not sure if you bought a new Lexus yet but I never purchase the scheduled maintenance because the dealer over charges all the time. You may think you are getting a great deal purchasing up front but it's still not worth it. These cars are very reliable and as long as you do your regular maintenance at an independent mechanic shop that you trust then you will be fine.

I just bought it upfront when i was signing for the car. it covers upto 20k miles. it added like $9 or $10 a month to my payment. No big deal. i think total cost for the plan itself came out around $350

Your first oil change is free @5k. At 10k miles all you require is a tire rotation. At a tire dealer $20.00 and at Walmart only $10.00. At 15k another oil change at an independent facility around $70.00, at a Toyota dealership around $60.00. Add it up, you'd pay about $150.00 vs. $350.00. No mystery here...
