GS450H Traction battery
I have a 2009 Lexus GS 450H, although Lexus tell me it was manufactured in 2007. The hybrid battery appears to be as good as new, but how would I know, and what is the expected life of the battery? Anyone had experience with these? And any suggestions on where to buy a new battery if needed - I have heard buying through Lexus is very expensive?

Thanks Matt for directing him to that.
Welcome friend. Why would your car be a 2007 if Lexus says it was manufactured in 2007? Would that not indeed make it a 2007?
Either way, the expected useful lifespan for the Nickel-Metal-Hydride (NiMH) battery pack is 10-15 years on average. Costs to replace can be dizzying so I reccomend having your local Lexus/Toyota dealer check the hybrid system health before you purchase and periodically after.

The 1st 450hs were weird with builds. Remember, Lexus treated it as a sorta open base beta program for the US those first 2 years.
Thanks Army of one. The car was first registered in 2009 in England - ostensibly making it a 2009 car. However, I now own it after being exported to New Zealand and Toyota NZ say it was manufactured in 2007, so I imagine that is the actual age of the battery.
