Default Wiper Blade Replacement Question

I was replacing my wiper blades today when I noticed that the 'wind reflector thingy' was attached to the blade itself and not the arm. My Acura CL has the 'wind reflector thingy' on the wiper arm and not on the metal part of the blade itself. I tried to just switch the rubber from the new blade to the old one so I could still have the 'wind reflector thingy' but I couldn't. So do we have to get a new blade from the Lexus dealer or it there a way to just replace the rubber from the wiper blades? Thanks in advance people.

Mike, all you have to do is take a ride down to your service spot and tell them that you need to have your rubber from your wipers replaced.. If they charge you anything it'll only be a few bucks..

How important is the wind deflector, I replaced my wipers with complete new ones since new rubber did not seem to help. I have not had any problems, but kept the deflector just in case I need it in the future?
Thanks

It's not important.. I've had mine off for like 6 months since I replaced my wipers with the Piaa wipers...

I also replaced the entire assembly without the wind deflection piece...
Before I could do 0 - 60 in 5.8 seconds...now without this piece 0 - 60 in 5.79999 seconds...

Hey Mrsypher, how are those PIAA wiper blades? Are they better than the Bosch Micro Edge Excel?

To be honest with you, I never tried the Bosch MEE before.. But I know that the Piaa Silicone blades are by far the best wipers that I have ever had..

The only time the device is needed is when the car is travelling fast. The air flow on the windshield pushes the wiper up. This device compensates by using the airlow to icrease the pressure downwards .. like wing on back of a racing car.

For normal city driving in rain, you would hardly miss it.
