Angry Timing chain Oil leak

I'm in northern California, my dealer told me to fix the timing chain oil leak on my 2007 ES 350 it would cost $3,400. I have seen other posts stating they were given a $2,400 cost.

I think $3,400 is too much to pull the engine and replace $20 worth of silicon sealant.

Anyone know of a place that can do the work for less than $3,400?

Tom

Unfortunately its a ton of work, that im not sure i would trust to a shop other than Lexus. Maybe Toyota can give you a lower quote, and they should be used to doing the job, since they have the same leak issues with the Camry and Avalon. Im guessing that some of the people who were quoted less than you, may be in different areas with lower labor costs... just a thought.

Its irrelevant if how much the part is, 2k or 2$ if you have to put 20hours of book time in it.... sorry you're the customer i hope to never have to deal with. There is no logical connection between part cost and labor to install it.
