see if there are any techincal service bulletins on the problem.
You have to subscribe to get the full details, but nonsubscribers can get at least obtain the problem id code.

You just have to select your car and engine size (easy menus), bring the code if found to the Lexus dealer. Most every service center (dealer and independent) subscribe to AllData or Mitchell's "On Demand". If there is a TSB, then the problem has been reported before and there should be a fix.

There's no TSB on this problem, but my best guess would be AC ECU. Don't count me that.

The service bulletin AC001-01 will fix your problem. The multi-display unit (Nav screen) microprocessor was changed. The bulletin is dated 1/12/01. It's a shame some dealer personel are not up to date on this.
