My GS fell apart last night!!!
Last night I was driving to work. I work 1 hour out of town, Im on the highway going 120 km/h, 75 mph? all of a sudden I here a loud tearing kind of sound. I got out of the car all of the front under panels including the molding under the right front fender were on the ground. Why? because the teach that did my last oil change did not tighten the the mold under the engine properly!. I am pissed, this problem should never have happend! I had to walk for 3 hours to call for a tow truck because I forgot my cell phone at home!
BTW. The first thing the service manager said when I explaind what happend he tride to put the blame on me. He also said that it is normal and this kind of thing can happen when Im going that fast!.

It is getting to the point that you can't even trust techs to perform a simple oil change properly. A few days after my last oil change, I noticed a leak from the drain plug and upon crawling under, I found the plug was so loose, I could have removed it with my bare hands!
How incompetent. What a disaster it would have been if the plug had come off while driving!

This is definately not "normal" Once the black push pins that hold the plastic panels are popped out they should not be reused. If they are the Christmas tree type, they may get a few usages until the pliable wings/barbs are useless. Recently I removed the front panels on my ES300 ('02), there were 5 bolts and 8 push pins (not the christmas tree type). Lexus uses a black push pin that snaps through a three prong setup. Once the pin is pulled back the other way, one or two of the prongs break, rendering them useless. 75 mph air flow is not strong enough to break these. My guess is you recently had a lazy service tech work on your car.
Ask to speak directly with the service manager. If he does not remedy the problem at his cost, ask to speak with the general manager in his presence. General Managers don't like bad publicity and want happy customers. The GM over rules the SM. If both of them team up, then ask them for the Regional Lexus Customer Service Reps phone number and the owner of the dealership. A letter copied to the owner, GM and Regional rep should get it done at no cost to you. If that fails, threaten with the Canadian equivalent to the Better Business Bureau and let them know that you would also pen off a letter to JD Power and Associates and your local news station's investigative reporter.
The power of the pen and public eye is suprisingly overwhelming.
Good Luck!!
