Default 02 LS430 Nav DVD Player software reload

My nav 86841-33060 is displaying data disk cannot be read. After loading the disk, it takes close to 5 minutes before this message is displayed. I sent the unit out for service. They changed the optic drive. When I reported back to them that their repair didn't work they refunded my cost. That said I contacted a firm in Calif that also does repairs, they are saying its most likely the board. Before I send the unit out to them ($750) I was wondering can I somehow delete or reinstall the memory in the BIO's or on the board itself. My thinking is that like my PC, the operating system controls the loading. Sometimes we need to flush the system and start over. There has to be drivers in memory that instruct the system to read the disk. I have the original disk and also V5.1 that I installed several years ago. It might be that when they did the repair it affected the memory and a reinstall of everything might just fix it. Any suggestions or ideas on how to proceed would be appreciated. Also do you know of any companies that sells the boards.

I found this link, not sure if it flash reprograms the nav system or what its used for. http://www.downarchive.com/software/...rter-2009.html can anyone tell me

As far as i know, there isnt any way to "reflash" these units. Typically when we see these issues, we replace the nav ecu unit. which holds the dvd. Ive heard of these companies, and they usually work out well. Its good that you were refunded for the original repair. A reputable shop should be able to properly test the system prior to shipping it back to you.
