Cut Waxing Time by 1/2...Amazing!!!!
OK, I got lazy again and thought of an easier and faster way to wax the car.
I tried the idea and I was amazed at how fast I finished. I just zipped through it and wham...done!
One of the problems of applying wax is holding the applicator and trying to cover a large area at a time. Sometimes the applicator slips or your hand gets tired holding it as you're applying the wax.
This time I did not use the applicator. I used a used athletic socks. I slipped my hand in it and presto, no more holding and found that I could cover a lot more area in less time. I also slipped on a surgical glove inside the socks to protect my skin from saturation from the wax.
Then, remember how most waxing procedure wants you to pre-moisten your applicator pad? It dawned on me that by having it moistened, you actually can spread the wax faster and cover more area. But as you apply the wax and the moisture dissipates, it gets harder to apply the wax. Problem is you cannot constantly moisten the pad (or socks) - its a major inconvenience.
To get around it, I just use a water spray bottle and direct a fine mist on the section that I would wax. Then, you apply the wax and wow...it's slippery and wax is applied with much less resistance. Smooth as silk.
Try it. You'll like it.

Hmmm...
100% cotton jock sox by HEAD, about $15 for 6 pair at Costco, have really fat bottoms, soles, whatever, like terrycloth. Especially when they're brand-new, they really are like wax applicators, and they are pretty thick.
Just might work...
