Dash lights on after having new shocks installed????
I just had new shocks and tires installed on all four corners. I picked the car up after hours and noticed battery was about dead (was fine before I dropped it off). All my radio presets were reset so I'm assuming battery went dead (can't see why they would purposely disconnect battery to install shocks and tires).
Anyway, now the 3 lights are on at the bottom right corner of engine light display. One is the light that only used to come on if traction control was activated, then the 2 lights just to the left of that.
Anyone know what the tire shop did to make these lights suddenly come on? There were no lights on before I dropped it off, I am 100% sure of this.
Sounds like you may have some ABS/TRAC related trouble codes stored in the system. It is entirely possible that they may have stretched or broken a speed sensor wire, or simply left it disconnected in the process of replacing the shocks. I would return the the place you had them installed at to have them recheck everything. As for the battery issue, maybe the lights were present when they were done, and they tried to clear the codes by disconnecting the battery? Just a theory. Either way, id return to the shop you had the work done at.
Thanks. I'm definately bringing it back there. Just wanted to be able to give them an idea of what to look at instead of just saying, "ummmmmmmm, you messed something up"
