Default Automatic car wash under cold weather

Just come back from maintenance services at a Lexus dealership. There is no car wash this time, given the reason that the cold weather (<10 degree C) might lock the brake.

I know that they are using touch-less automatic car wash. Is it unsafe to go through automatic car wash under extreme cold weather?

Thanks!

I would have to say; probably not. Especially if it sits out side.

bad idea in many situations... water gets pushed into the keyhole, freezes the lock... most of the time can't even open with the remote even!

I would have to agree, water expands when freezes, so im sure it wouldn't be the best of ideas.

I am in Toronto as well and I wash my cars and family cars throughout the winter (below freezing) using automatic touchless car wash and coin wash. I have no issue. The key holes do freeze initially but as soon as you insert the key, the thin ice sheet will just break off. And maybe 3-4 times a year, I would spray some WD40 into the key holes. So far so good. My oldest car is a 1997 with more than 340,000km and no issue.

when i worked at acura, we would have the customers car washed when it was cold out either, because it would normally freeze the doors shut solid and or prevent the windows from moving,

unless of course one was to chamois the vehicle completely, then maybe
