Default stock vs. aftermarket

the differences are minimal, but here's the rundown.
1) washable filter, no need to buy another one again
2) more power, minimal 1-5hp gain
3) better air flow
4) looks nicer

i'm not an expert, but i've been asking questions as well, and that's what I gathered.

i know the TRD/TOMS range between 80-100, depending where you buy it from.
don't know about K&N, they don't make one for my car (yet, i hope)
but, i've been told to contact Steve. check out this thread that I started

can't comment on that. like i said, K&N doesn't make one for my car. let's let others comment on this one. I'd like to hear some comments myself.

correct me if i'm wrong..

intake and air filter that's two different things (even though that they close to each other) right?

as far as i understand intake thats' the whole thing.. arm that coming from engine and filter on the oppositive tip of intake

and air filter that's something goes inside of intake

am i right?

they just did a dyno test on the intakes, check that out, or you can use the search button and search for "intakes"

Yes, that's about right. On an aftermarket intake the filter usually looks like a sort of cone shape on the end of the big pipe. The stock filter is inside a closed black plastic box on the left front under the hood (you can unclip the top and look inside, you won't break it) and the box itself is connected to the engine via a big pipe.
