My driver side door mirror on my 04 LS Ultra is going crazy. When I turn the ignition the mirror unfolds but it will not stop at the normal position it continues until it can't go any further. The part that retracts is slightly lose and I do not see how it can be tighted, if I apply the slightest bit of pressure it will stop in its proper place. I think that it is some type of spring loaded unit. Can the unit be repaired or must it be replaced?

Most likely you will just need a replacement. While it can probably be fixed, thers no repair procedure in place for it. Sounds like the internal sensor in the motor that tells it its position is bad...
