Default 07 sc430 tpms /vsc /afs problems

I've got a couple of questions, first what is AFS? Yesterday I was driving along @ about 40mph all of the sudden the VSC kicks in applys the brakes
and wouldnt let me go past 30 mph it came on abruptly and stayed on
for about 4miles on and off then went away as suddenly as it came, by the way the AFS light has been on won't turn off and I just put on 19 inch wheels without tpms. It seems as though the car thinks it has a flat and wont let me go over 30 mph. I turned off vsc control, and it stoped but I dont want to leave it this way.PLEASE HELP!!! this is on a 2007 SC430

alright, couple questions...

first off, what size tires did you use?

TPMS will cause a very annoying flashing, but won't cause the vehicle to not go over 30 mph...

I would venture a guess that there is too much of a difference between front and rear tire diameters, causing an issue...

AFS = adaptive front lighting system... it too could be having problems due to mismatched tire diameters if there was enough of a change front to rear...

The front tires are 245/35ZR19
the rear 275/30ZR
This car was in an accident at one time and has had the front headlight replaced that could be the AFS light is there something I can look for if I take the headlight off ?

hm, definitely yes on the headlight, but, I am not very familiar with the system... my guess though is that you will need a scantool to find out why the light is on, then go from there... it will probably have to be a factory scantool, or one with that capability... probably the only real thing you can look at is the connectors and make sure they are firmly attached, possible disconnect, clean and reconnect...

as far as the other problem, your front tires are 1/4" taller than the rears. It shouldn't cause your problem, but I don't know the exact tolerances...

there was no other work done like brakes or anything was there?

thanx mitsuguy as far as suspension it was completly rebuilt strut, rotor, brakes I don't have b4 pics but the damage was pretty extensive. although all the mechanical work was done by lee myles a very compitent shop. I'm pretty confident in their work.

You definitely need to get a scan tool on it to see what the VSC/ABS codes are. Could be a bad speed sensor or something similar, that would cause the vehicle to engage VSC and not allow you to go over 30mph. At the same time, you can check codes on the headlight system as well.

I would venture a guess there is something wrong with a wheel speed sensor - may have been missed, might not even look like it is damaged...
