Default Auto Transmission Clutch

1990 LS400:

I think most of my transmission problems are due to the clutch being worn out. It slips and delays between shifting. I changed the fluid and had it flushed twice it helped only a small amount.

The symptoms resemble a manual transmission with a worn clutch.

Does anyone know if an atuomatic clutch unit can be replaced without rebuilding the whole trans?

I think I'd be saved if so..

Thanks for the link, all they mentioend was that there are multiple clutches in an automatic transmission.

Anyone else know if they can be replaced without a rebuild?

I'd call up a mechanic and ask 'em...
