Unhappy HUUUUUUGE suspension issues

Ok so here it goes. I bought KYB struts and installled them with H&R Lowering springs. Not a crazy drop just a 1.25 drop. Here is the problem. When i hit any kind of bump, pothole, etc the strut punches, like you can hear the whole strut hit the top. It isnt the car bottoming out, but the actual strut hitting. I got it check out and they said that the strut is too long for the shortened spring, but i thought i did the whole thing right. This crap is getting expensive now, and i dont know how much more i can pour into it. Can anybody tell me where i went wrong, how to fix it, or wanna buy a 5spd stick shift ES lol?

Yup, sounds like something was installed incorrectly or left loose...

if a strut is too long, even for a lowered car, then it is the wrong strut for the car...

all a lowering spring does is make the car sit lower because it uses part of the original suspension travel of the vehicle...

also, I have seen and heard of springs being too short - this issue usually only makes noise when you get weight off the front end, like going up and over something, not just hitting a bump...

I would look at the strut mounting plates and the alignment of the coil spring within the strut perch...

i dont think you have a problem with the struts. most like something is worn out that is noticeable now or something wasn't installed correctly.
