'95 Sc 400
I test drove every type of Merc that you can think of before settling on a '95 SC 400 (55K mi.) and made the switch after one test drive, but I am having a couple of small what I believe to be related problems with it after a month of ownership:
1.) If I turn off the A/C and slow down (say to stop at a light or whatever) the car will die, so I turn the A/C back on and the engine compensates for the additional need for power and revs back up. The car usually idles at ~500 rpm without the A/C on.
2.) Sometimes the car will be a bit sluggish. This happens whether the car is cold or not. Hit the gas and it chugs along.
(However, there are other times when it will go from 65 to 120 in a blink.)
I have a couple of theories:
1.) Tune up?
2.) Fuel filter issues?
The car was checked by a mechanic before I bought it and he told me that the car was fine.
Any suggestions?

Your car is up for 60K service, and it is a major one. Start reading here:

then search on 60K service, maintenance in the SC forum, and of course look through other posts there.
