Code 25 kicking my
In pursuit of code 25, I went to my local Toyota dealer and they diagnosed that I needed a Throttle Body cleaning to clear up code 25. They performed that, 25 miles later the Check Engine light returned. I then went to Auto Zone and bought the after market Premium Oxygen Sensor by Bosch, part # 15727. I was told that this would fit upstream or the first sensor on the drivers side from the engine. I cut the 4 wires replaced everything and the Check Engine light returned. I went to Advance Auto parts (different store) to purchase the other sensor. They informed me that I had put the sensor in the wrong place and said it should be down stream past the converter. Advance Auto Parts statement reads: (Universal Type; 4 wire; Heated; Downstream Sensor; Two required; Check/Replace Interval: 60,000 Miles-1 YEAR REPLACEMENT Prices subject to Change 55.99) They showed me this on the print out. I returned to Auto Zone and they showed me, on their computer, that the sensor went up stream. Who is right and do you guys have any idea what to try next. I still have the Bosch 15727 Premium Oxygen sensor up stream, driver side before the converter.

i used www.oxygensensors.com to find my sensors for my 93 LS400...code 25 is lean a/f ratio malfunction. common culprit is the main o2 sensors. id
13470 Oxygen Sensor - OE Type Before Catalyst Check / Replace Interval: 100,000 Miles
13471 Oxygen Sensor - OE Type After Catalyst Check / Replace Interval: 100,000 Miles
15733 Oxygen Sensor - Univ Type Before Catalyst Two required; Check / Replace Interval: 100,000 Miles
just pulled that off of the bosch website,

Today I removed the passenger side, front sensor and will replace it tomorrow with a Borsh universal oxygen sensor. That will take care of the front upstream sensors they are both universal BOSCH 15727. I will take care of the easy two in the rear down stream as money permits. My battery is disconnected. I will reattach it tomorrow and see what happens.

FYI...the universal kits are not always the best answer where you have to cut and splice wires. I have heard AND learned your always best to go with the plug and play as its very difficult to get a solid connection unless your going through the effort of resoldering those connections.
This is just my .02 but times when I and friends have gone this route the code still was thrown until i replaced with NON universal 02. oxygensensorsdotcom is the best in terms of price and compatability that I have found.

Tonight I soldered, fluxed and cleaned the connection between the universal sensor and the original sensor. I really want to get rid of that check engine light. Also I just found out that my car 1st owner bought the car in California. I understand that they did a few things different to those cars do to the tough environmental standards. If I had it to do over, I would have purchased OE parts.

check engine light- gone?
That is a good one. I finally got rid of my check engine light by changeing my passenger side up stream oxygen sensor. I have only put 50 miles on my car testing it so far but the check engine light has not come back on. I did solder and seal all the connections. I have the 2 down stream sensors on order so I will replace them ASAP.

Thanks guys
I really want to thank you guys and gals for all the help that you all have given me. Now the bad news I spent some big money thru paypal on a Nav/cd/dvd system and the guy shipped it like it was a spark plug. Everything was in a box to small for the product and packed like sardines, no bubble wrap and very little newspaper. Yes, the face is busted into a thousand pieces and connectors are broken. I was charged 30 dollars for shipping and the guy did not get insurrance. He spent $20.92 on shipping thru the USPS (what happen to UPS and Fedex). The Post Office teller told me that this was the worst packing job that she had ever seen. She also stated that when they see package like that they suspect mail fraud. However she said it couldn't be because he did not get insurrance. It has bee 24 hous now and I have not heard from him, I am trying not to go thru paypal to ratify the situation. Any ideas? Again thanks for all you all have helped me with.
