Metsfan

I've heard that this can be a problem on the 2GS. I can release my hood but then cannot get the hood to lock back down. The garage (Toyota dealership) told me that it would be about $225 to replace the cable. The part itself is like $30, the rest is labor. Has anybody ever done this? I'd like to do it myself but want to know something about what I'm getting into.
