Battery always draining car. What if I disconnected a Terminal?
For some reason when I don't start my car for like 4-5 days my car is completely dead. I always have to jump start it. I am going on a trip for a few days and was wondering if I disconnected the negative terminal, will this be ok? Or will I need to disconnect both positive & negative terminals so my battery doesn't drain? I don't know what is causing my battery to drain for not starting it for a few days as I don't have sounds or anything. But just wondering i f just disconnected the negative terminal would do?

I have the same car (92 SC400) and I'm having the same problem. I think its the alternator going out. I just installed a fresh battery Sat. and by Tue it was dead. I took it out Sat. for about 20-30 on the freeway and side streets. I might swing by a parts store and see if they will do the free electronic diag.

i am having the same problem, i still havent been able to figure it out whats causing the drain. i checked all the ground and etc. but the thing is that my alternator is good and bad at the same time. the good is that its holding at 14+ volts but the amperage is at 40 and it would drop. from my understanding that the amperage is suppose to be at 50-60. so i think the alternator might need to replace but the thing is that i am not sure if it is possible that the alternator can drain the battery while the car is not on. anyone for any idea for this?
