Default Blew a bunch of fuses/relay

So I just bought a 2000 GS-300 this weekend and today I was putting in a battery, when putting it in I switched the negative and positive terminals on the battery and hooked the cables up wrong, It sparked and the horn went off. I blew the ALT relay 120A and some others. I bought a new ALT relay at the dealership for $20 (ouch!). My problem is that I can not get the 2 prongs out of the terminal where it goes from the old one. The plastic box with the little plastic window came out leaving 2 prongs there that just will not come out. I tried everything up to vise grips and called it quits. Does anyone know how to get those things out, The car will not start now and I assume replacing this will do the trick. Thanks.

hopefully no other damage was done... some electronics in the car are very sensitive to having the wrong polarity... that fuse is bolted in, you will need to remove part or all of the fuse box in order to get it out...

Yup, gotta remove the fuse box and unbolt the 2 prongs. I realized this when I was replacing the one on my SC. I thought it was stuck in there that tight, but disassembled it and saw the bolts. Should be pretty straight forward.

Any tips on disassembling the fuse box?

Hmm it was a while ago, but if you take the cover off, you'll see. I'll take a look later and update this post.

The 2000 GS, you will have to remove the battery, remove the 10mm bolts that hold the fuse block, remove a 10mm nut under the fuse block cover.

You have to look very hard to find 4 inner clips that hold the inner fuse block(where all the fuses are hold together) to the outer plastic fuse block. You just need a small flat head screw driver to pry the clip and pull the inner fuse block upward. You also need a 10mm socket and an 8mm socket. One side of the 120 amps is 10mm bolt and the another side is 8 mm.

Tip, place an old towel under the fuse block or your working area so if you drop those little 10mm or 8mm bolt it will easy to find. After replace the 120 amps check all the little fuses from 5,10,15,20,30 amps because you will need 1-3 fuses. You have a fuse block on both left and right side kick panels, look in the owner's manual.
