Unhappy Blown Fuse or maybe more?

Ok this problem is two fold so let me give you a little history on it. For the past month or so I have noticed that when the bass hits in my car and I am driving at night that it dims the headlights. So I figured that the battery might be losing power. So I had intended to change it but I guess I waited too late. The other night I was driving home and everything seemed to be doing alright I had turned off the subwoofers to keep them from draining the battery. I went into a store and when I came back out the battery was completely dead. I mean it did not act as though it had any juice at all. So I got someone to give me a jump. The car started right away but my instrument panel is now dead. Is it possible that I blew a fuse and that is the problem or could there be more damage. I am going to replace the battery this weekend but should I try to take a look at the fuses or take it to the dealer to have it looked at? I bought my 1998 Lexus GS300 used and it didn't come with the manual so I don't know the fuse locations and such. Can someone help me out with that?

Also with all the power that my stereo system takes what kind of battery should I invest in?

Thanks, Mark

sorry to hear about what happened....i would definitely first look at the fuses first before taking it to the dealer, the fuses are under the hood, unfortunately i don't know off the top of my head which fuses are for what, but as for a manual, check out this link and it will tell you how to get a manual (includes all the fuse descriptions) for your car free: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=92845

good luck!

You should have your alternator checked to see if it's working right. It may be why your battery died in the first place.
