Default A/C blowing chunks.........literally!

In both the LS and SC I have noticed that while the A/C is blowing, chunks of strips of brown-gray foam insulation come flying out of the vents.

Anyone else here have this happen or know what this is and why and would it be considered a warranty item?

Thanks.

Default Chunks

Put some mouse traps in your garage or around the area where you park the cars.

Are maybe those little lizard things that you have so very many of like building nests inside A/C plenum the same as mice?

No rodents, fortunately. But plenty if Cuban Anoles (lizards). From what I can tell, it appears to be some gray foam insulation.

I know that here in Florida foam products don't last long but I was curious as to whether anyone else has encountered this probelm, what part of the AC it is coming from, if it is a potential probelm down the road, etc.

Default no rodents

Are you certain?

I didn't realize why this was happening in my aerostar until the vacuum motor stopped working. Built a huge nest within the blower area and chewed the vfacuum line in two.

Happened to me too. No terrible worry. It's just the insulated foam they use were the plastic vents meet the inside blower assembly. The foam will dry out with age and begin to break loose. Mine did it for about a week and then quit.

Default not normal

two cars start throwing foam bits simultaneously?

I'd still look for small critters...
