Is there a need to get AAA if you have Lexus Roadside Maintance for towing? My take is that Lexus Roadside Maintance will only tow you to the nearest Lexus Dealer for free, however AAA will tow you anywhere within the limits of the plan you have (basic is 3 miles and premium 100 miles).

I ask because I drive a Lexus SC430 without a spare tire and if I go on a trip and get a flat I would need towing and might not be close to a Lexus dealer. So wondering whether I should get AAA premium even though I have free Lexus Roadside Maintance.

I was faced with the same question when my AAA membership renewal notice came. The deciding factor for me is that an AAA membership is for the individual and not the vehicle. If you were with someone else (who didn’t have any coverage) and their car and had a problem – you can use your AAA membership to call for assistances. Also with AAA, you have the discounts and travel services.
