Backlight on instrument cluster

I'm new to this forum and thought I would see if anyone could help me. This morning when I started my 2002 GS300 the backlight on the instrument cluster was out, I shut the car off and it came on when I started it the 2nd time and it was fine until I turned it off and now I can't get it to come back on. Anyone know what might be wrong or how to fix it?

Welcome to CL
This may sound crazy,but your battery is almost dead or has some bad cell. I've seen this problem all the times. Replace with a good battery and you will be happy and good to go...

Thanks VVT-i. I would have never thought of that being everything else seems to be working fine and I did just get a new battery a couple months ago but I'll check it out.

This seems like a great forum so far.

First off, welcome chad! VVT-I is right. Sounds like a bad battery. If it's still under warranty, have it replaced. If the battery idea doesn't work, you're in for a lot of DIY.
