Any suggestions on how to fix this? I baby my car and rarely drive it. When I start up my car the needles usually move right then back to left starting position. Now it doesn't do that anymore. It only works when I park out in the sun for a bit. Anyone else experience this? Any suggestion on how to fix it? I know, I know...drive my car more! lol. Maybe my battery is getting old? I had my cluster replaced 6 months ago back when it was not illuminating in the middle of the needles under warranty.

I think the comment about your battery getting old may be spot-on. From what I understand, failure of the gauges to sweep during the start up sequence is definitely a symptom of a weak battery. Since any AutoZone store will test your battery for free, that would be my first move.

^^ I'd second this.

When my battery was going out, it was taking a slightly longer time to start and the needles stopped sweeping when the car starts.

Thanks everyone! I only drive the car once or twice a week so the battery is probably slowly draining.
