Leaking powersteering on a SC300
Hey
I just looked under my car and figured out why all the fluid leaked out
It looks like its coming from the right boot.
Im thinking the boot tore, and the dust and crap tore up the oring to the rack.
Is it hard to change? or is there a easy fix?

Way to blow things out of proportion guys. The SC is an old car and as such, the rack will eventually start leaking and need a rebuild. Same thing happened to mine, both the boots were torn and fluid was leaking due to normal wear and tear. I just took it to a shop and had the rack rebuilt for around $275. That included new boots, new tie rod ends, and rebuilt internals. Just make sure that you get it done soon. The ATF that is used for the power steering fluid will leak onto and eat away at the rubber bushings on the rack and your control arms.
i just had my rack replace with a new rack. i work at toyota and the part was like $300, i had one of teh techs do it for $100. night and day with the steering feel. nad best part no more messy leak.
