Default Replacing EGR vacuum modulator

I am going to replace the EGR vacuum modulator, but I was wondering if I needed one that is specific to my car model or could I use another one... say a one made for a Camry of the same year.

According to your profile, you drive a 92 LS? An EGR modulator from a 92 Camry would not work for you. They are two completely different cars. If you had a 92 ES300, then the 92 Camry part would be a direct replacement.

Oh I see, thanks. By any chance do you know what another direct replacement for my car is?

Just buy the part that designed for your car, in this case 92 LS400 EGR vacuum modulator. You may spend a little bit more money for the right part, but it may save you a lot of headache in the long run.
