The whole thing about RP being a bad oil is highly overrated. This has mostly been based on reports of increased evidence of shearing in certain engines on BITOG. There are the same number of UOA on there that show no shearing and quite good results. Do your own reading and make up your own mind. RP gear oil is quite good and so is their ATF. I prefer RP over M1 but I usually find M1 more frequently and for cheaper. I usually use motor oil for 6 months amounting to around 5k miles so it really doen't make much of a difference.

But perhaps a better question is, why are you so touchy about one particular product? Do you work for Mobil, or are you a dealer? If not, why get so worked up over something of such small importance?

Uber, I'm using the pennzoil right now in my car.
Honestly, I've used amsoil, mobil 1, and pennzoil on my car. They all seem to be the same as far as gas mileage, power, etc. Pennzoil is cheaper on my wallet though.
I wouldn't stress too much about engine wear as long as you're doing your normal oil change routine. A lot of GS out there are getting 200k+ miles out of regular run of the mill dino oil. Just pick your favorite one and stick to it.

Maybe if one operates their car at an extreme level, isues may show up sooner. Otherwise...

i change my oil at around every 4500~5000 miles
i do drive a lot of short distances and up the hill very often so im also worried about not getting enough heat into the oil before shutting the car down

I have it a lot worse than you my friend.
My daily commute is 1.5 mile each way and that's one way in the morning, and then one way back home at night. It's usually stop and go also. My oil doesn't even get remotely hot enough for optimal performance. Then again, that's why I'm running 5w-20 instead of the 5w-30. No problem ever since the new weight change.

I am using that right now, but down here it is known as Liqui Moly and I am using a 5W30. I would keep using German Castrol 0W30 but they stopped selling it down here. This 5W30 appears heavy for a 30 weight, but my RX seems to accelerate and move just as smooth as it did with the German Castrol, though I have lost a few tenths in the MPG column.

Lexmex,
How much is Liqui Moly? I have loaded up on GC since it is currently on sale at Autozone, let me know when you come back to the U.S. I would be glad to share my private GC stash with you.

For a 5 liter jug down here, some places are chargining as much as $120 USD with tax and that was 5W40. Fortunately, I went direct with Liqui Moly Mexico and got the 5W30 for $80 USD. I think they are selling it for about half that in the U.S.
Boy, I could I use some GC right about now.

I know guys who run RP down here, but they don't go over 5,000 miles on the stuff (but they race 1/4 mile and use their vehicles as daily drivers). RP does make a great gear oil that I use.

But yeah, I drive my car moderately aggressively (maybe a 4 or 5 out of 10) and I do a 7500 mile drain interval with Mobil 1 5w30. No problems so far
