I now use Redline injector cleaner. Use to use Lucas and got great results, but Redline is a bit more effective. BG44K isn't as impressive anymore ever since they dumb down the formula.

I picked this up a few days ago and I seem pretty satisfied with the results thus far.

Red line or Regane by Shell

Find anything with high amounts of PEA.

You can also do your own research on bobistheoilguy.com

Just to make sure, it won't hurt anything by dumping Fuel Injector Cleaner in the tank will it? As in, it is a pro-active measure and you don't dump it in only when something is suspected to be wrong?

Just want to make sure before I dump it in

You can dump it in at any time you want, not just when you suspect something is wrong.

When I lived in Mexico, I was pouring it on virtually every 3rd tankful given the quality of the gas there.

I live where 93 or 91 isn't difficult to find at all, but if it won't hurt than I might as well. I've only used 93 so far.

Thanks

I'm still trying to decide if it's even worth it to use these. I've heard some people say it works and others say it's a waste of money

It's a waste of money if you buy products that does not contain a good amount of PEA. Not all fuel injector cleaners will work. ALL cars have some sort of carbon build up regardless of what anyone says. Yes, those who use 'supposed' top-tier gas will have some too. The amount of additive such as 'techron" or equivalent in gasoline is in very low concentration. It is not uncommon for refineries to add maybe 1 quart of additive to a hundreds and hundreds of gallons of gasoline.

As pingu stated, Redline SI-1 has some of the highest PEA concentration available with Gumout Regane slightly behind it (however it does cost less). Chevron Techron use to contain a good amount, but whether it still contains it is unknown.
