Default A replacement or option for T-IV ATF

I have searched for other options that are available for T-IV ATF and came up with the following:

http://www.amalie.com/specs/index.ht..._trans_cvt.pdf

http://www.championbrands.com/SpecSheet/TRN3.PDF

Any opinions or suggestions are welcome. The Chapionbrands seems to be available only in Midwest to West coast. I picked up the Amalie in Connecticuit for $4.71/ quart.

The only other fluid I would put in my car is Amsoil Universal ATF.

+2, 20K miles and counting on my RX, not a single problem. Amsoil's cost per mile is far better than Toyota T-IV.

Usually you will only have problems (after changing your fluid) if you havent changed the fluid in a long long time... Ive heard that the Amsoil stuff is great. I used their engine oil in my camaro a few years ago and i had no complaints.

I don't think the drain and fill will damage your transmission, it's the full transmission flush on a machine that hurts. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there a way you can do a flush on your own, without having to go to a dealership? Can you find Amsoil anywhere other than their website?

Is it bad to mix two different brands? Can I switch to a different brand next time I do a drain and refill or do I need to do a complete flush before I switch brands?

same here... however, I did read once that you are not supposed to mix Type T-IV and Type T-II... there was a Toyota TSB about it... not sure how crucial it is though...

Yea I don't know how crucial it is either but I wouldn't mix two different types of ATF. As long as it is ok for two different brands but both same type, I'm good . Thanks guys.

What car requires Type T-II? I didn't even know there was a Type T-II

My car only calls for Type T-IV, but since amsoil is compatible, I mixed it

I forgot to mention, is the stuff at Autozone compatible? I think I remember hearing some bad stuff about that but can't remember. Would mixing that with the toyota fluid bad?
