I just changed my trans fluid last night on my 95 ES300. I also dropped the pan and put a new strainer and gasket in. Per the Lexus dealer, I used 3 quarts of DEXRON III for replacement, started the car and checked to see if I needed to add more. On the dip stick, there are two marks, COLD and HOT. The level was perfect when I checked it HOT. This morning I checked it expecting to see the level at COLD, but it was still at the HOT level. I realize that I can't get all the fluid out of the trans (there is fluid stuck in the Torq Conv.) But is this correct?????

Need to check with engine running and warm up already (HOT). With oil pan off you might need more than 3 qts.
litfuse - Might want to drive the car around for ten or fifteen minutes. ATF sometimes doesn't get real hot with just the engine idling. Need to put it in drive and run it around for a bit to get the fluid hot and see if it makes a difference.
