Default oil and radiator fluid

Couple questions...

Does the '95 SC400 require special radiator fluid? It's time for my radiator to be flushed and am wondering.

Also, how many quarts of oil does the SC400 take? thanks!

Ans. #1. The red stuff from Toyota if you prefer (very expensive) I'll go for the after market stuff.
Ans. #2. According to the shop manual, 5.1 qts of oil with filter change. I just change my oil last week and it took more than 5.1 qts. You just have to stop at 5 qts. and added until it is full.

Havoline Extended antifreeze-no phosphates looks like the same stuff from Toyota. I bought the OEM antifreeze but, anything with no phosphates should be fine. The JASO recommends that no silicate anitfreeze shouldn't be used either b/c of premature waterpump failure. Some of the big aftermarket antifreeze companies have this now like, Prestone 5yr-no silicates or phosphates.

I think I paid around $30-$40 when I bought OEM Toyota antifreeze from the Lexus dealer. If you insist buying the OEM coolant. Buy it from a Toyota dealer. It'll be around half the price.

I got my antifreeze from the Lexus Dealership. It cost around $22. It's also teh same exact one that Toyota sells.

Try Carson Toyota (800) 908-6968 ask for Steve Ganz or Gordon. I don't remember how much. I didn't buy it, that's mean it was expensive.
I rather pay $20 for a gallon of Trans. fluid than this red stuff
