'94 ES300: I've owned it for 10 years now. No one has been under the dash during my watch.
Original owner was an older woman.... not one I would think would be crawling under the dash!
Was there a directive to remove the factory filters????
I went to install replacements and the originals are missing!
Thanks,
JU

The ES300s (from 1992 to 2001) all take the same cabin filters. It's a set of two, the thinner one goes on top, and the thicker one goes on the bottom.
Interesting?
My thoughts were that when the Lexus dealer prepped it for "Certified" resale they pulled out the originals and saved a few $$ by not replacing them. The cover plate was broken at the forward fastener so someone pulled it off after removing the two rear screws.
Thanks,
JU

Hm, that IS interesting. In any case, I note that replacement cabin filters are available. DENSO is one company that makes those filters. They aren't cheap, at a list price of almost $50 (per set). Other aftermarket brands may be available for less. I wonder how many other ES300 owners have missing cabin air filters?
