OBDII readers
Hello All,
I see a wide range of OBDII diagnostic readers on the market, ranging from about $40 to $1000. A question for those of you who have researched what's on the market:
What have you discovered about the benefits of the various types of readers? Which features are worth paying for and which aren't?
Thanks!

I got mine at O'Reillys for $218 - don't remember the name off hand. Has worked well for me thus far. Came with 4 different cords for different types of vehicles. I can check tomorrow and let you know.

I have an $80 Actron reader that reads the codes, spits out the number and then allows me to erase the code. Comes with a book that gives the title of each code.
Granted, if you are going to do higher stages of tuning, it makes sense to get something that can read a lot more.
One added feature that my uncle has on his Actron (about the double the price of mine) are the readiness monitors that several U.S. states test for, such as the cat and the O2 sensors.
It really just depends on what you are going to do with your vehicle.
