Default GS ECU (Body ECU)

Are all ECU's on the GS connected together or something? I'm having sometimes an intermittent problem with the rear windows not lowering down when I press the switches on the master, the door locks not functioning properly, the dome light not lighting up, and the steering wheel not retracting itself down when I insert the key.

Make sure you check all the fuses first. You may has one fuse that power up one of the ECU and that ECU control those function. My guess would be door ECU and that same fuse may power the steering ECU too.

vvt-i is correct its all connected...

The power tilt/power telescopic ecu is connected to the driver door ecu.. they have a common relay it may be that..(Body ECU#2 - drivers side fuse box)

here is what happens...

"...1. AUTO RETURN OPERATION
When the ignition key is inserted into the key cylinder (The unlock warning SW is on), the signal is input to the tilt and telescopic ECU through communication control of the body ECU and door ECU etc. This activates the ECU to automatically return the steering to the position set before the ignition key has been removed."

check fuses in the driver side # 18

check pass. side fuses # 12 , 13 and 17

The thing is that most of the time, everything works fine. However sometimes it acts up like that. I believe there are 2 Body ECU's one on the drivers kick panel and the other on the passenger.

I didn't know all the ECU's are all tied up together with that MPX connections.

your right there are 2 body ecu's and they are connected via mpx...

that why i said check the relays ..fuses...

it may be a loose wire somewhere..which maybe hard to track down...

Yeah because it's intermittent, its gonna be tought to track it down. Could be a relay that's not staying closed. Is there a relay turning on those ECUs?
