Default Night Tailights went out need help

I have a 1994 Sc400 and one day I was driving in the night and a cop pulled me over and said my tailights went out and it was out of nowwhere. Then the dash light came on I was wondering if anyone could help me to solve my problem. I checked fuses and changed the tailight bulbs and nothing helped.

Do the lights work when you hit the brakes?

You got a short somewhere in the system. My best guess is check the tail light failure sensor. If this sensor short out it will give the same problem( without warning).

Hey man,

I had this problem in a 93 SC400 and after spending hundreds of dollars on trying to get it fixed - no-one could work out where it was coming from.

So, I just used add a circuit which I tapped into my headlights. So when I turned my headlights on my tailights would come on also. It is a ghetto way to fix it, but it saved me spending anymore money on it.

Good luck,
Jonny
