Default Really Bad Gas Mileage

Bought My SC about 3 months ago. Love it but needs a little work. My full tank of gas will get me 300 miles before the light comes on. And that's if I drive freeway the whole time. If threr's any local involved, 250-280 max. Right now, I'm an eigth past quarter and only run 83 miles. Is this normal for the sc400 or is there something that needs to be fixed?

Thats definately not normal. When was the last time a full tune-up was performed? (plugs, wires, dist. caps, dist. rotors, air filter, etc.) Does the car seem to run fine?

Probably not the sole issue, but check your tire pressure.

My 93 SC4 gives the same MPG, with a recent tune up.

The car seems to be running fine, besides needing lca bushings, rack & pinion bushing etc. But I think a Tune up should help, don't know when the previous owner last did one. I haven't gotten a chance to check my tire pressure yet, but I'll get on it tonite. Anyone recommend a place for tune-up in so. cal??

Actually, I recently purchased it, and according to the maintenance records, they were done at Lexus of Melbourne. I know it’s a long drive from you, but I thought I’d mention it anyhow.
