You're in NYC as well? Maybe we'll do a mini group buy and group install?

I would like to know if this fixes the problem too. I have the same problem and was about to replace the ball joints in an effor to fix it.

i beelive the control arms are only in the front.
On another note. Since I'm changing my suspensions, should I be changing anything else to resolve this strange noise? Bushings? lubing certain components?

before you go too crazy, are you familiar with the normal ABS pump hiss sound?
if you start the car quiet (no radio, A/C, etc), the first time you press the brake (e.g. in P shifting to R), the brake system in this car does some sort of calibration. it sounds like a hiss followed by a light clunk. the car doesn't even need to be moving to hear it. just start it quiet and hit the brake.

Hissing sound doesnt bother me at all and I do hear it. But I do hear clicks when I brake at times. It does sound like something is loose or it may be my brake pads.

Click, not a thump like noise? Click sounds like pads. A thump of sorts is bushings. Do you feel the noice through the car? I mean, do you feel the click vibrate through the car. If it is just an audible sound, it does sound like your brakes.

I don't know, but I am guessing that aftermarket shims will work.

nope no control arm bushings yet. They said they will contact me once they become available.

I also have the same problem. It happens almost every morning. I start the car, let it warm up a bit than i put it into reverse. Once the car starts moving and i tap the brakes, i hear that clunk. Very annoying. Please let me know if the dealer was able to help you.

Sound like the brake pads clicking noise. When I got my 2001 GS I'd experience the same noise after the car got over 15K miles and the brake pads about 30% worn out. Every morning when I back out my drive way and the first time I step on the brake pedal. I hear this thumbing/clicking. This is absolutely normal because the brake pads got worn out so the brake pistons will have to travel further to move the pads against the rotors.

That was my symptom too. Nearly every morning when backing up and turning when I applied the brakes I got a "clunk" or "popping" sound. I just had my lower ball joints replaced and I believe that's fixed the problem. I still notice an occasional sound but I think it's the brakes.
