Fuel gauge stays in neutral position
I have a 2000 GS400 with 56,000 miles, my fuel needle moves up to the half way position when I start up the car and stays there. Does not move until I am low on fuel and then just moves all the way down to the 1/8 full mark and the orange fuel light comes on.
Anyone have this problem yet?

One trip, I let the tank get till the warning light illuminated. When I filled up, the needle stopped at the 3/4 level for the next 3 fill-up's. It was very slow to go down as it had before but it always hit the 1/4 tank mark as expected when checking my mileage. The last few fill-up's, the needle has gone back to the full point and has been fine.
Maybe an intermittent electrical gremlin. The thought with mine was the sending unit.
