the check engine light just came on in my 94 GS300. . .I just left my gas cap at the station like a week ago and haven't had a chance 2 hit seattle for a new one, could that have triggered it off because that did it in one of my friends car. . .I doubt it. . .anyways. . .I only got 72K miles. . .anyone got any ideas?

 

Have someone pull the codes. On your model lexus the missing gas cap should not have turned the check engine light on.

 

just got it checked. . .no loose hoses or anything and the engine is running smooth. . .It was just a local mechanic and he thought it might be my O2 sensor, the thing that tells the engine whether 2 run lean or rich on gas. . .and now that i think of it my mileage the last few weeks has been lower then normal, i thought it was time for a tune up or something but maybe its that sensor. . .I'm gonna get the diagnostics and we'll see what happens. . .peace
