Default broken window clips???

I wasnt sure where to post this...I started on the LX 470 site, but you do not get too many hits on that site...so I am going here next..I need help fast...
Help Please...

Yesterday my husband was reaching out of the drivers side window of my 99 lx470 to get the mail...he didnt have the window down the whole way and apparently leaned too hard onto the glass. When we went to put the window up...it got about four inches from the top and the front side just hung there. We thought he knocked it off track. We are not close to the Lexus dealer, so we called the local Toyota dealer. They called me back to tell me that the clips had been broken and unfortunately, he cannot order just the clips, we would have to order a whole new window at the cost of $236 and a total cost of $436 installed. I was stunned...I called the Lexus dealer and they were not sure without seeing the window what to tell me. They said the front clips can be ordered and they cost $3.98 but if he broke the back clips...it would require a whole new window. I had the Toyota dealer put the door back in place and intend to take it to the Lexus dealer on Monday to be checked out. Does anyone have any less expensive fixes to this problem? I hate the thought of buying a whole new window just because I need a $3.98 clip. Not to mention, I have aftermarket tinting on the windows as well. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

On the LX470 you have to replace the whole window. The ciip that hold the window to the window regulator is welded/glue to the window itself. Make sure the guy that replace the window know how to RESET THE JAMMED PROTECTION. If he don't reset the jammed protection, when you use your auto up function, when the window is all the way up it will goes back down half way.
