Wheel Bearings
#2
Are you sure it's bad? Was is diagnosed by a technician? I have seen a couple of high mile coupes with the same problem. It turned out to be the transmission mount. Sounds crazy but true. If the mount collapses it will send a bad vibration through the car sounding like a bad bearing. Did your tech listen to the bearing with a stethiscope? That what I use when I need to check a bearing.

There is no vibration at all. The rotor gets really hot and if i drive it too long... I get a burning smell from it.
At first I thought it was a bad caliper causing friction to the disc but there was no brake dust and the car wasn't pulling to one side.
My coupe has 173k so I'll keep that transmission mount in memory.
Best Regards

Not on a lex, but on my honda. Look for play, irregular rotation when your wheels are off. It's not a do it yourself on imports with sealed bearings though, better take it to a shop. Unless you have access to a hub compessor like i do.
