No way dude... I cant remember the last time there wasnt an '92 SC400 on ebay that had like 30 or 40K miles. Hundreds of people bought them new and simply didn't drive them. Mine actually had 49K on it when I picked it up last year.

If you search for a few months... I guarantee you'll find a 92 SC400 with like 30,000 miles on ebay, thats in perfect condition and will sell for like $14,000 at the most. Best value in the used car market, EVER.

I just picked up 2 quarts of Mobil 1 Synthitic gear oil (75W-90) and I'll have that switched in when I change engine oil next week.

If the diff fluid is a lifetime fill, then why is it replaced at the 30K mile service. I'm about to get one for my ls430 soon. I just replaced the diff fluid in my 91, ls400 with 185K on it. When it drained out it didn't look too bad but the magnet was covered with black gunk so I am def gonna change out the diff fluid in my ls430. Actually, changing this fluid is as easy as an oil change and can be a diy project.

Was it the first time the oil was changed in your 91?

I just changed it out on my 90 and it was pretty nasty.
Heck, its probably the easiest fluid change.

Until recently I got the car regularly serviced at the lexus dealer so I'm sure that it was changed at least once or twice.

I just checked the owner's manual for my 98 GS 400 and it reccomends
90W or 80-90W hypoid gear oil for the differential (GL-5).

Everyone here seems to use 75-90weight, and the Lexus dealership parts guy (who does not stock the stuff) specifically told me to use non-hypoid. Who should I believe?
