gas gauge not working in sc300

i filled up gas this morning..and after i drive away from the gas station i noticed the gas gauge was all the way down...not working at all. i filled up the car all the way. can this problem be fixed and how. i did a search but can't find anything.

i've noticed it will go up a little bit and then go back down... how much is the sender unit. where is it located. thanx
