i had my oil changed and my a/c recharged and one of the parts on the parts list was "pound R12" and there were 2 purchased. What is this?

 

Freon for the AC...............How much was it ??

 

Why did they charged you 2 lbs of R-12 on an oil change? I think R-12 will go for about $40.00 per pound. Unless you're complaint about A/C's problem on your 92 LS. Then, they will have to go through the proper diagnostic procedures before add in more R-12.

 

1 pound of R12 refrigerant = 14 ounces = 400 grams

The system capacity of a '90-'92 LS400 system = 2.3 pounds = 1050 grams.

12 & 14 ounce (340 & 400 gram) cans of R12 refrigerant are always available on ebay
as well as the charging hose
